The reason this works is Zhongda — Asia’s largest fabric market, 5 minutes south. 23,000 fabric shops feed the garment factories in Haizhu and Panyu. Raw cotton from Xinjiang gets milled, dyed, cut, and sewn within a 50km radius. That vertical integration is why Guangzhou apparel consistently undercuts Hangzhou and Yiwu on the same quality tier.

Shiling town in Huadu district is the undisputed centre of China’s leather goods industry. 4,000+ factories produce 700 million bags, belts, wallets, and cases annually. Half a million merchants visit every year. The cluster is so dense that you can source raw leather, hardware, zippers, lining fabric, and finished goods all within a 10km radius.

The trading side lives in Sanyuanli, Baiyun district — closer to the city centre, easier for buyers doing short trips. Baiyun World Leather Trading Center has multiple adjacent buildings on Jiefang North Road. Factory pricing in Shiling runs 30–40% below the trading hub prices in Sanyuanli.

Baiyun district alone has 1,857 registered cosmetics manufacturers — nearly a third of China’s total. This isn’t just packaging and labelling. Guangzhou has the full chain: R&D labs, raw ingredient suppliers, filling lines, and regulatory testing centres. White-label MOQs start at 1,000–3,000 units per SKU, making it accessible for DTC brands.

The wholesale side centres on Meibo City (Beauty Exchange Center) near Guangzhou Railway Station — 110,000 sqm, 1,500+ stores covering cosmetics, skincare, wigs, and beauty tools. It’s the largest beauty wholesale centre in Asia Pacific.

Zhongda Fabric Market in Haizhu district is a 5 sq km ecosystem of 23,000+ shops across 61 specialized sub-markets. It supplies raw materials to the entire Pearl River Delta garment industry. You can buy 1 metre of sample fabric or 10,000 metres of production fabric from the same vendor.

What makes Zhongda unique is speed. Fabric purchased in the morning can be at a Panyu cutting table by afternoon and a finished sample by the next day. The entire textile chain — spinning, dyeing, printing, finishing — sits within an hour’s drive.

Yide Road is Guangzhou’s toy and gift district. Onelink International Plaza anchors it — 7 floors dedicated to toys, stationery, holiday decorations, and promotional gifts, with over a million SKUs under one roof. The surrounding streets add dried seafood, snacks, and party supplies.

Guangzhou’s toy cluster connects north to Chenghai (Shantou), China’s toy manufacturing capital, making it a convenient wholesale hub for Guangdong-made toys without the 4-hour trip to the factories.

Guangzhou itself isn’t the furniture factory — Foshan is. But at 30 minutes by metro, the two cities function as one sourcing cluster. Lecong in Foshan has 20 million+ sqm of furniture showroom space and 3,450+ shops. CIFF (China International Furniture Fair) runs every March — 430,000 sqm, 3,000+ exhibitors.

Guangzhou’s role is as the logistics and trade show gateway. Buyers fly into Baiyun, visit Lecong, attend CIFF, and ship from Nansha port — all without leaving the PRD.
